In a powerful dialogue on inner peace and environmental responsibility, Sister Jayanti, the European Director of the Brahma Kumaris, took the stage at the Phil Haarlem in the Netherlands for a program titled "A Life of Stability." The event, which drew over 1500 attendees, featured a conversation between Sister Jayanti and Dr. Sharda Nandram, and also included a vibrant mix of dance, music, and historical reflections on the Brahma Kumaris' establishment.

During an interview with Lalit Bhusal, founder of My Name Is Climate, Sister Jayanti shared profound insights on the link between inner stability and a sustainable way of life. She emphasised that true stability comes from "space and simplicity within." This internal balance, she explained, is the antidote to the consumerism and materialism that she believes are destroying the environment. "When there's instability inside," she noted, "I look to balance outside," which leads to an unsustainable lifestyle. By finding "happiness and comfort and contentment within," individuals can reduce their reliance on external consumption and thus their environmental footprint.

Addressing the followers of My Name Is Climate, Sister Jayanti underscored the tangible, human impact of climate change. She highlighted that it is "not just a theory, it's not abstract," citing rising food prices as a direct consequence affecting people globally, especially the poor. She stressed the need for a collective shift towards simplicity to ensure the equitable sharing of resources. Her message was clear: climate change is a reality that "is actually impacting all of us today," and a conscious move towards simpler lives is essential to tackle this global crisis.

Sister Jayanti is a spiritual teacher, author, and visionary leader. She is based in London, where she serves as the Director of the International Coordinating Office of the Brahma Kumaris and is their representative to the United Nations in Geneva. She is known for bridging Eastern wisdom and Western education, and has been an emissary for peace for over 50 years.
